CBSE NCERT Solutions for Chapter 6 Triangles Class 10 Maths

Triangles are geometrical figures bounded by three lines. The sum of all three angles of triangle is 180 degree. The chapter is the progression of the previous concepts. The chapter starts with the concept of similarity of triangles. Similar figures are figures which are having same shape. If both shape and size are same for two figures they are said to be congruent. In case of triangles, two triangles are said to be similar, if there corresponding sides are proportional and corresponding angles are equal. There are five criteria for two triangles to be similar-SAS, SSS, SAS, AA, AAA. Questions are asked to prove triangles similar using these criteria. Also, proof can be asked in exams. Also, the ratio of the areas of two similar triangles is equal to the square of the ratio of their corresponding sides. Questions are asked on this concept also. Pythagoras Theorem is taught with proof. There are six exercises in this chapter.
