Examination Pattern
- Preliminary Exam
- Mode: Computer Based Test (CBT), Objective Type
- Sections: English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability
- Duration: 60 minutes (Sectional timing in some exams)
- Purpose: Qualifying stage to cover basics and shortlist for mains
- Main Examination
- Mode: CBT, Objective (and sometimes Descriptive)
- Sections: Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis, General/Financial Awareness, English Language

- Clerical Exam: No descriptive paper; PO/Specialized: includes English letter/essay writing

Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Graduate or equivalent
- Age Limit: 20–30 years (as on notification date); relaxations as per government rules (SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen)
- Nationality: Indian Citizen (with some relaxation for citizens of Nepal, Bhutan as notified)
